Description
Overview: In this introductory lab, students will perform gel electrophoresis. Six standard dye samples will be used to identify the dyes found in three unknown dye mixtures.

Experimental Timing: From start to finish this lab can be completed in a single 45-50 class period. Additional time may be required if you choose to have students prepare their own gels.
Specialized Equipment Required: p20 micropipettes • gel electrophoresis units with power supplies (each student group will run 9 samples)
